Yardenit – Baptism site

This site is located alongside the Jordan River close to the Sea of ​​Galilee. It is known as the only baptism site in Israel.

Many pilgrims visit this site and some participate in baptism ceremony.

At the Yardenit you can sit at the cafe on the Jordan River and enjoy the scenery. At the site a large gift shop and snack bar.

The Yardenit is 10-12 minutes drive from Avigail Guest House.

Beit Yigal Alon Museum in Ginosar

At the museum there is an original wooden boat that was found in 1986, the boat is 2000 years all and it took 10 years to move it from the Sea of Galilee to the museum. The preservation was made by archeologists and experts in order to keep as authentic as possible.

They found out there are 12 different types of wood as it was belong to a very important persona.
